Every level, there is a new devil. I heard this phrase at church today, from Pastor Wesley (pictured) and it gave me chills. Think about your life and all of the things you have accomplished. Maybe a promotion at work. Perhaps making Varsity on a sports team. What about meeting the guy or gal of your dreams. Every single time a dream comes true, the devil is waiting. Waiting to see if he can steal our joy. Waiting to see if he can force jealousy and greed upon us. Waiting to see if he can introduce us to a bad habit that will sidetrack us from our purpose. He doesn’t want to see us celebrate. He doesn’t want us to feel victorious. Instead, he wants us to feel beaten down, broken, and full of despair. He is so smart and so sneaky, he creeps in when we least expect him. I hope if you are reading this today, it serves as a wake-up … a reminder of sorts to keep your “God guard” high. Every blessing God bestows on us, the devil wants to take. Every favor we are granted from the good Lord, the devil wants to tarnish. In fact, the devil is watching you now. He is watching me write this. And he doesn’t want to me to praise Jesus. That’s fine. I am watching him too. And I know his tricks. I won’t back down or give him one inch of my attention. Or intention for that matter. I stay ready to fight him. God created you for bigger purpose. So be courageous, dear friends. And when you get to that next level, and you see that new devil … keep on rising. Keep on shining. The devil is not as strong as you. And he is no where as strong as you and God together.
